Analysis and Optimal Synthesis of the RSCR Spatial Mechanism
A closed form solution of the analysis ofthe RSCR (Revolute-Spherical-CylindricalRevolute) spatial mechanism is presented in this paper. This work is based on the geometric characteristics of the mechanism involving the following three cases: the cone, the cylinder, and the one-sheet hyperboloid. These cases derive their names from the nature of the locus of the slider of the linkage as viewed ...
متن کاملThe Freudenstein Equation and Design of Four-link Mechanisms
Ferdinand Freudenstein (1926-2006) is widely acknowledged to be the father of modern kinematics of mechanisms and machines. His Ph. D. thesis in 1954 and subsequent research papers by him and his students have influenced academic and industrial research, teaching and practice related to the analysis and design of mechanisms and machines throughout the world. In this article, we revisit Freudens...
متن کاملFour-Bit Wireless Link Estimation
We consider the problem of estimating link quality in an ad-hoc wireless mesh. We argue that estimating links well requires combining information from the network, link, and physical layers. We propose narrow, protocolindependent interfaces for the layers, which in total provide four bits of information: 1 from the physical layer, 1 from the link layer, and 2 from the network layer. We present ...
متن کاملIdentification of some secondary metabolites produced by four Penicillium species
Fungi produce a wide range of secondary metabolites such as antibiotics, toxins, alkaloids, fatty acids, ketones and alcohols during active cell growth. The present study was aimed to identify secondary metabolites from some Penicillium species, using GC-MS. Many important compounds such as 3-oxoquinuclidine in Penicillium jenseii, formamidine in Penicillium pusillum, orcinol and 1,3,8-p-mentha...
متن کاملMechanisms of cellular protrusions branch out.
F-BAR domains bind curved membranes and induce membrane invagination. In a recent Cell paper, Guerrier et al. describe an "inverse" F-BAR family member that induces outward curvature and filopodia in migrating neurons. These findings suggest that F-BAR domains are functionally diverse and regulate different types of membrane morphology.
